His is what the heavens and the earth contain. In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the MercifulĢ:255 God: there is no god but Him, the Living, the Eternal One. But in the context of Ayatul Kursi, it refers to God’s Throne. The word “Ayat” means “Verse,” the word “Al” means “The” and the word “Kursi” means “Throne.” The Arabic word kursi also refers to chair. “Ayatul Kursi” are the words “Ayat Al Kursi” said together. According to the Islamic faith, it is written on the very Throne of God Almighty, it is a powerful verse. It gives us an idea about how and what we should think of Him, the Almighty. It is the 255 th verse of chapter two called “Al Baqarah” or “The Cow.” This significant verse describes some of God’s significant attributes. Ayatul Kursi is known to the Muslims as the best verse of the best book, the Holy Quran.
